This is the story of my experience with Barack Obama and how I got involved in his campaign. I feel strongly about the 2008 Presidential Election. Only we citizens of these United States of America can change what is happening in Washington, D.C. We can take a positive path to improve our standing in the world or we can maintain the status quo continuing with policies that do not work. We are experiencing a financial disaster because the of those failed Bush/McCain policies. We need to change the direction of those failed policies. We can take charge by voting for the most qualified person to be President and Commander In Chief. We can do it!
Yes we can!

I first heard Senator Barack Obama the Keynote Address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. I was so impressed with what he had to say that I decided when he ran for President that I would vote for him. Barack Obama has a vision of a future for this country that we can be proud of. There are no blue states or red states. We are the United States.
Barack began his speech by telling about how unlikely it was for him to be on that stage in 2004. Barack then told about his life: his father, mother, Michelle and his precious daughters. Barack then told about the people he met, their hopes and dreams, and expectations for this country. Barack began his public work as a Community Organizer in the south side of Chicago and that is a real accomplishment and takes orgtanizational and management skills. Everyone working on the Obama Campaign is a Proud Community Organizer.
When Barack declared his candidacy in 2007 I was totally amazed. This was to be the year to elect Hillary Clinton so I was in a quandary. I wanted to vote for both of them and knew that it would not happen. I made my decision to vote for Barack Obama in the Primary. I know that he will be a great President and Commander In Chief.
I then went in search for a way to work in the Obama Campaign beginning with the DNC. I found the official Barack Obama web site and signed up with my only goal being to help in the election process. I have made new friends through this campaign and am grateful. I started working by maintaining our local database of members of Fairfield4Obama, attending meetings and helping organize. Then came the day when I could no longer avoid phone banking. I began by calling Ohio and it went rather well so I then called Oregon, New Mexico and Colorado. I have earned my battle medals and am a Proud Community Organizer. My participation in the Barack Obama Presidential Campaign has changed my life forever. I have gone from a shy woman to a more assertive woman working for a cause. I will be eternally grateful to Barack Obama.
